Workflow Fails to Start
When troubleshooting a workflow that will not start, consider the following.
- Is the Workflow Server running? If you're already in the Workflow Designer, then the Workflow Server must be running. However, if you are in a repository and Workflow is failing to route a document, check the Workflow Server's status to make sure it is running.
- Is the Workflow Subscriber running? If you're already in the Workflow Designer, then the Workflow Subscriber must be running. However, if you are in a repository and Workflow is failing to route a document, check the Workflow Subscriber's status to make sure it is running.
- Has the Workflow Subscriber been properly configured to work with all repositories the workflow is associated with?
- Is the Workflow Subscriber monitoring the correct repositories and evaluating starting rules?
- Has the workflow been successfully published?
- Has the workflow been assigned a starting rule?
- Is the workflow's starting rule enabled?
- Have at least 30 seconds passed since you published the starting rule?
